The Palm Beach County School District Police Department, through its Gang Detective Unit, has a major focus on gang detection, prevention and intervention. The Youth Gang Violence Prevention Initiative will create a
browser-based investigative, analytical, and statistical resource for recording and tracking youth gang members and their activities throughout the county in order to prevent youth gang violence. The Initiative will serve the 1.3 million citizens of the 38 municipalities of Palm Beach County.
Progress will be measured by the number of law enforcement officers actively using the system and the number of youth gang members identified.
