Girls Inc. Operation: Impact is a project of Girls Inc. of the Greater Peninsula that employs national evidence-based programs to reduce the probability that girls, age 5-18 will become involved in delinquent behavior, whether they are committed by girls or girls are the victims of violence acts. This innovative project utilizes Girls Inc. nationally researched programs to guard against girls becoming involved in truancy, bullying, underage drinking and gang activity. The goals and objectives of the programs are to empower girls to make strong, smart and bold life's choices within a safe structured environment where they learn through participation in fun activities facilitated by certified teachers. Progress towards the program goals and objectives are measured using pre-post tests surveys. The program uses Girls Incorporated's evidence based, gender and age specific curricula to facilitate learning in experiential safe learning environments during after school and summer hours. The age appropriate components are divided into 15 sessions. The curricula are facilitated by professionally trained Girls Inc. staff to groups of up to 25 girls.
