Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $335,381)
The purpose of the project is to serve 600 predominantly Native American and Hispanic youth aged 12-17 in northwest New Mexico with social detoxification, early intervention, assessment, referral, treatment, and wilderness-based experiential education. The program provides treatment services in several SAMHSA/CSAT priority areas including treatment for minority populations and treatment in rural areas that focuses on early intervention in a community setting for adolescents with substance use disorders.
