County of Midland 42nd Circuit Court Family Division will establish a Baby Court to reunify maltreated children from birth to three years of age with their rehabilitated parents and to significantly improve parent-child bonding and attachment. The Baby Court will help to reduce the number of children removed from their parents and guardians and to improve the lives of children in Midland County. The project will provide therapeutic interventions to improve child and parent interaction and behavioral and emotional parental and child responsiveness. An advisory board has been established to oversee the Baby Court, including funding distribution, outcome measures, and the overall process evaluation. Members include representatives from the judicial system, mental health, human services, education, community action, child development, health system, substance abuse treatment, and other local service providers.
