THE POINT's arts-based Youth Development Program engages approximately 300 young people in grades 1-12 from the low-income community of Hunts Point in the South Bronx. THE POINT offers academic assistance, literacy, a comprehensive arts-in-education curriculum, environmental education and activities designed to increase students' social skills. The organization evaluates the program based on student attendance, academic performance, participation and proficiency in the performing and visual arts via public showcases and through peer and instructor evaluations.
