The No Workshops....No Jumpshots Program targets City of Gary, Indiana at-risk youth between 13 and 18 years of age who have demonstrated poor levels of academic performance and/or participation. Students in the program are engaged in a structured program of workshops and sports-related events. The purpose of these activities is to improve behavior and to foster a sense of positive self-worth. The regimen is intended to be strict, with zero tolerance for tardiness, incomplete work, and "acting out." Participants for this project were primarily drawn from Edison Middle School, but following consultation with faculty and guidance counselors, participants were also recruited from Tolleston Middle School. The program aims to serve 50 youth during the 12-month period. NCA/NCF
