The Martin Luther King Center project will aid youth in the acquisition of defined attributes that have been proven to increase their likelihood of becoming caring responsible adults. The King Center proposes to enhance its own services and expand partnerships to ensure youth possess skills related to: learning, social skills, values, and positive identity. Activities will include academic support designed to encourage achievement and prevent "dropping out"; workforce development including paid and unpaid workforce experience; conflict resolution and decision making education; volunteering and service learning opportunities for youth; and mentoring.
