Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $201,228)

Community Action of the Franklin, Hampshire, and North Quabbin Regions will implement research-based substance abuse and violence prevention education strategies through its Youth Programs. Thus Community Action will administer funds for the Communities That Care (CTC) Coalition to implement strategies defined in its 2008 Community Action Plan. The goal is to promote research-based prevention strategies in the schools and community that (1) reduce youth substance use, antisocial behavior, and risky behavior and (2) promote positive alternatives to these behaviors. All activities will be aligned with the goals, objectives, and outcomes determined through the data-driven Strategic Prevention Framework planning process conducted through the CTC Coalition. Progress toward outcomes will be measured through regular administration and analysis of a Teen Health Survey and related tools. NCA/NCF
