Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $89,435)

The City of Fontana, through the Fontana Jack Bulik Teen Center, will promote the development of positive social values, behaviors and relationships in a safe and drug-free environment. The Center plans to provide preventive resources and services to teens (ages 12-17) after-school from 12:00pm to 6:30pm, Monday-Friday and 11:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday. The activities offered will include middle and high school educational enrichment programs, community service and volunteer opportunities, career and college expo, technology center, excursions, training, ROP programs, off track and summer camps, adventure club and implementation of a teen mayor's advisory committee. Performance measures will include the number of individuals that participate in the program, participant grades, and participant crime rates. NCA/NCF
