Lifeskills Program for Youth: Cooking Lab Renovation and Car for Drivers Education Training

This funding request is to support Sheriffs Youth Programs of Minnesota's (SYPMN) plans to enhance its Vocational Skills Training programs by extending the curriculum to include Food Preparation instruction and Drivers Education training. Vocational skills training is an essential component transitioning youth from residential care back into the community.. Our Residential Life Skills Training program encourages youth to achieve and maintain a job in their communities, apply learned independent living skills and set and achieve educational goals. Through this programming, youth increase their self-confidence, self-responsibility and self-awareness.
