South Dakota Healthy Communities-Healthy Youth Initiative

This systems improvement project will allow Search Institute to partner with the South Dakota Prevention Network and selected South Dakota school districts and communities so that these organizations and communities can build Developmental Assets in young people across South Dakota as a strategy for boosting student achievement, reducing risky behaviors and helping youth thrive.
The funding provided by this grant will allow Search Institute to assess the current state of asset building activities in South Dakota, and build partnerships with statewide and local groups across the state. Search Institute will also offer print resources, school and community trainings, consultation services and survey support. Representatives of South Dakota organizations will also be invited to participate in the national Healthy Communities ' Healthy Youth Conference in November 2008. NCA/NCF
