Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $514,250)
The project has two parts: First, approximately 100 at risk Klingberg students will be provided opportunities for participation in vocational programs that are integrated with the school curriculum. This program will include both vocational opportunities within the school environment that involve production and community sales of produced items. Older at-risk students will be offered community employment opportunities with mentoring and job coaching support. The success of this program will be measured by the participation rates in both the internally-based vocational program and the community sales and employment program. Second, technology enhancements will improve service delivery to at-risk children and youth in two ways. Technology enhancements will provide approximately 100 of Klingberg at-risk students with additional teaching/learning technology to augment classroom learning. The success of this effort will be measured by how technology is being employed in the classroom. Also, the full implementation of a new Harmony Information Systems software will improve service delivery in all of Klingberg's programs by automating client, program, clinical, and billing information management. The success of this effort will be measured by the number of Klingberg's programs that operate using this technology and by the number of at-risk children and their families served. NCA/NCF
