DARE to Fight New Trends in Drug Abuse

The D.A.R.E. New Jersey initiative, under this grant award, seeks to provide funds to develop a new prevention module on the dangers of steroid use and to train D.A.R.E. certified officers on this module, as well as develop a national curriculum on prescription and over the counter drug abuse. Both the additional modules will be integrated into the current violence and drug resistance education training curriculum on a statewide basis to public and nonpublic students in grades K-12, using uniformed law enforcement personnel. Funds will be used to support curriculum development, training sessions and related materials and an evaluation of training effectiveness.
