Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $737,501)
The National Child Protection Training Center (NCPTC) is a federally funded partnership between Winona State University (WSU) and the National Association to Prevent the Sexual Abuse of Children, a national coalition of survivors and child protection professionals. This funding will be utilized to establish the framework for implementing the model undergraduate curriculum in 20 universities and for conducting extensive research on the effectiveness of the curriculum; develop and begin implementation of a model medical school curriculum at Mayo Medical School to better prepare future doctors to address child abuse; and enable the National Child Protection Training Center to provide extensive training, technical assistance and publications to thousands of professionals.
