Miami Tribe is applying under the category of providing alcohol and drug abuse prevention programs. The project anticipates serving 150 juveniles from ages 0 ' 17 years. The project will be within the Miami Tribal fifty (50) mile radial service area that is located around Miami Tribal headquarters within the project community of Miami, Oklahoma. The type of setting will primarily be Tribal Childcare Learning Centers, as well as annual Native American camps and meetings. The Niiyawi Project will provide alcohol and substance abuse programs, educational peer group forums, and drug testing and screening for Tribal youth and/or their families with a hope of providing community awareness, youth resources, and support systems for at risk families.
