This Gang Free Schools and Communities project implemented the five strategies of the Comprehensive Gang Model: community mobilization; social intervention; opportunity provision; suppression; and organizational change and development. The goals are to reduce the incidence of gang involved activity in and around schools of the East Region target area; reduce the incidence of gang-involved crime in that area; mobilize communities in the target area to assist this initiative in the implementation of solutions to gang activity; and to continue to enroll youth in the initiative and link them to appropriate programs.
