The San Diego Family Justice Centers' Camp Hope has chosen camping and related mentoring as the primary, long-term therapeutic intervention and seeks to provide such turning point opportunities at a unique lake camping venue in eastern San Diego County. Camp Hope will serve over 100 children and families with camping experiences for the children, year-round activities for children and parents, one on one mentoring relationships for each child, and support programs for families. Providing small group and peer support for campers, Camp Hopes' main goals and objectives are to plant hope for a safe and violence-free future in the lives of each child attending; promote awareness of giftedness and abilities, helping children accomplish confidence building challenges and improve each child's ability to envision and aspire to a hope filled future.
