Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $300,000)
Through the Information Sharing to Prevent Juvenile Delinquency Project, the Center for Network Development (CND) has innovated Juvenile Information Sharing (JIS) as an approach for cross agency information sharing; developed and published Guidelines for JIS which provide research based standards and methods for achieving JIS; and drafted a data model for juvenile justice information exchanges, (JXDM). CND will build on these to complete the development of the JXDM; and complete an initial JIS model incorporating the Guidelines and JXDM. CND will document the model development, develop Guidelines for JIS Toolkits and distribute them on the project website and conduct training sessions through webinars to benefit juvenile justice and other youth service agency system leaders across the country. The following are the performance measures and data sources: (1) completion of the development of the JXDM will be measured by agency records of the submission of the documentation by January 15, 2008; (2) completion of the model for JIS will be measured by agency records of submission of the draft JIS model to OJJDP by April 1, 2008; (3) completion of TTA tools and resources will be measured by submission of tools for the JIS Guidelines to OJJDP beginning February 1, 2008, and announcements posted on the project website beginning March 1, 2008; (4) delivery of training will be measured by agency record of the number of participants in webinars. Data will be collected through online registration; (5)number of participants who are satisfied with webinars and publications will be measured by webinar participant evaluations, and solicited feedback using online surveys posted on the project website; and (6) number of programs or agencies that have modified JIS processes, policies or procedures as a result of the TTA and products will be measured by data collected from online surveys posted on the project website.
