Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $449,976)
Since 1990, the National Juvenile Justice Data Analysis Project has significantly changed the landscape of juvenile justice statistical information available in the United States by creating an infrastructure of data and dissemination tools that have become indispensable resources for informed policy decisionmaking. With this grant award, the National Juvenile Justice Data Analysis Project will continue to address OJJDP's information needs in a cost-efficient manner, taking advantage of the potential of existing databases to produce empirical information on a wide range of topics and utilizing many different modes to disseminate this information to a diverse audience. To this end, the project will continue to update and expand the Statistical Briefing Book conduct original research, produce publications, respond to information requests from OJJDP and the field, and work with OJJDP to develop new data resources.
