The Morgan County System of Services (SOS) will enhance its Transitional Residential Placement Program to prepare juveniles placed out of home in boot camp, detention or state residential facilities for reentry into the community. Morgan County has a unique and valuable resource that can be utilized as a residential transitional facility for Morgan County's adjudicated boys who are returning from boot camp, detention or Department of Youth Services commitment and are ordered on an aftercare petition to complete additional programs. SOS will expand its Memorandum of Understanding with Alabama Sheriffs' Youth Ranches, Inc. to utilize two of its 10-bed cottages to operate a transitional residential placement facility for 40 juveniles annually ordered on an aftercare petition by the juvenile court following their release from a juvenile residential facility.
