Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $422,182)
The Hocking County Juvenile Court will integrate the juvenile drug court program with the Reclaiming Futures program model in an effort to: decrease unsuccessful high school graduations, decrease out-of-home placements or family disruptions, decrease the number of drug addicted babies born to teens, decrease unemployment rates, decrease criminal recidivism rates, decrease use of detention, decrease use of community-based correctional facilities, decrease youth entering Ohio Department of Youth Services' (ODYS) prison facilities. Specific goals of the integrated model are to: reduce the number of substance abusing youth in Hocking County; increase the number of youth successfully adjusting to an alcohol and/or other drug free lifestyle that includes ongoing recovery behaviors and associations; increase the number of youth successfully adjusting to a crime-free lifestyle;
increase the number of youth satisfactorily meeting their educational goals; increase the number of youth successfully adjusting to a responsible lifestyle. An evaluation on the achievement of the goals and specified objectives will be conducted by Ohio Valley Behavioral Health, Inc. In addition, the evaluation will collect all specific performance indicators required under the OJJDP solicitation. CA/NCF
