The goals of this research project are to determine the effectiveness of structured discipline policies such as zero tolerance and to ascertain how much effort should be placed on programs and services to support student engagement and positive relationships in school. The project will explore these questions using a statewide population of 300 high schools, measuring how these two protective factors in the high school environment - structure and support - interact and influence student attachment to school and the risk for youth violence.ca/NCF
