The Destination Achievement Project is a multi-faceted and integrative approach to preventing delinquency risk behaviors, substance abuse and other destructive behaviors in children and youth.

The partnership project will be coordinated and managed by RICCA, a long established and distinguished organization serving Rock Island County in Western Illinois.

The partnership will also include Martin Luther King Jr. Community Services of Illinois, the Faith Community, and the public school districts of Rock Island and Moline, Illinois.

Neighborhoods in the cities of Rock Island and Moline to be served by the project are characterized by high levels of poverty, unemployment or underemployment, single mother headed households, criminal activity and institutional prejudice and discrimination.

The Destination Achievement Project will address these co-existing conditions of destruction and failure, and implement program activities and strategies to prevent delinquency risk behaviors and substance use and abuse, address school failure in children, structure after school time, and positively impact the neighborhoods and communities served by the project.NCA/NCF
