The Hollywood Beautification Team (HBT) has proposed project Community Based Crime Prevention through Youth Engagement which will target students attending Hollywood Senior High School, Marshall Senior High School, and Belmont Senior High School to reduce gang activity and improve school performance. HBT will offer employment options for high risk students. The options will focus on the development of job training skills for youth between the ages of 16-18. This soft skills training aims to provide entry into the paid workforce and improve their neighborhood environment by working with community watch groups and the LAPD on graffiti abatement. Youth will also participate in tree planting projects, and will receive basic computer skills training that will be used in conjunction with GIS mapping projects. The project will run for 48 weeks during the course of the academic year.

HBT will collect and report various data including, the number and percentage of youth completing all program requirements, number of presentation service slots created, number of youths and families served, and average length of stay in the program.
