Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $49,361)
The Sullivan House Child Welfare Agency, Inc. will provide services to 25 at-risk youth between the ages of 13-17 years that focus on cultural and educational activities, substance abuse treatment, and one on one tutorial assistance. Recruitment will focus on youth most at-risk of gang involvement, school failure, truancy and delinquency. The goal of this effort is to provide an alternative to crime, enhance the lives of the participants and reduce their school dropout rate by 75%.
Performance measures will include the number of youth served in the summer and fall sessions, the number of workshops completed (by title), the percentage of youth who successfully complete the summer and fall sessions.
