Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $74,042)

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office will implement a youth prevention/intervention program designed to service 2 of ten boroughs in Camden County (Woodlynne, Oaklyn, Collingswood, Lawnside, Barrington, Mt. Ephraim, Audubon, Audubon Park, Haddon Township and Haddon Heights) to reduce youth alcohol and drug abuse, violence, arrests, and delinquency. The Camden County Prosecutor's Office will work in partnership with a licensed mental health and treatment center to continue to provide intervention, collaboration and education services to the targeted sites employing a various approaches.

The program relies on a multi-disciplinary premise, including participation from laws enforcement, school districts, clinicians, community members, students and an Interventionist, who collaborate on a regular basis to discuss specific cases as well as ongoing patterns of behavior. The objective is to brainstorm about potential mechanisms to combat the issues facing youth participants.NCA/NCF
