Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $78,978)

The Nassau County Police Activity League will continue to implement the before and after-school intervention and prevention programs targeting at-risk youth age 5-18 in Roosevelt, Freeport, Uniondale and Hempstead New York. The primary goals are to 1) increase access to educational, recreation, and cultural services; and 2) increase the health and nutrition of participating youth. The primary activities include the provision of 1) before and after school recreational activities (arts and crafts, construction, active play, sports, cooking, and reading); and 2) a nutritious meal for all participating children.NCA/NCF
