The Bell Gardens Youth Boxing Club

The city of Bell Gardens Police Department will implement the Bell Gardens Youth Boxing Program to youth age 8-18 in the southeast area of Los Angeles County. The primary goals are to 1) increase academic achievement and attainment; 2) increase awareness of the dangers associated with gangs and substance use; and 3) improve positive interpersonal relationships and positive self image. The primary activities include the provision of tutoring, case management, drug and alcohol lectures, gang awareness and victimization lectures, parent programs on drug use and gang participation, mentoring, and community service activities.
