From the Streets to the Stage: Cultural Literacy for At-Risk Latino Youth

GALA Hispanic Theatre's Stage for Cultural Literacy and Learning Program will provide quality, bilingual performing arts based programming for inner-city, at-risk Latino and multicultural youth, children and families. The project offers: intensive after-school and summer programming serving 50 youth; professional school matinees with post performance discussions and educational guides serving 1,200 local high school students; and bilingual children's theater programming for 1,500 children and families. Progress will be measured by tracking the number of participants served, the reduction in juvenile delinquency and victimization and the progress towards desired changes in target behavior. NCA/NCF
