The Honolulu Academy Project

The City and County of Honolulu will implement a prevention and intervention program for youth, age 16-18 in the Hawaii National Guard Youth Challenge Academy in all communities of Oahu with emphasis on Kalihi Palama, Waipahu, Waianae, and Waimanalo. The primary goals are 1) increase employment rate; 2) reduce high school dropout rate; and 3) prevent delinquent behavior of referred youth. The project will provide cadets with wraparound case management services, leadership development and social skills training, vocational training, alternative school and employment services.
