Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $148,084)

The goal of the MN Teen Challenge program is to impart education, awareness, and tools to local area teenagers to increase their drug and alcohol refusal skills and to reduce juvenile delinquency. The program will consist of large and small group presentations to be conducted at local high schools. These presentations will use multi-media and interactive components and will be conducted by presenters who are recovering addicts and close in proximity of age and background to the high school students they will be addressing. These presentations will include self-assessment surveys and the gathering of statistical data at each presentation to measure program outcomes.
