The goal of the Youth Adelante project is to prevent delinquency and substance abuse by decreasing risk factors and increasing protective factors. The San Fernando Valley Partnership is proposing an after-school substance abuse prevention program for youth 12- to 17-years old. The project will serve 15 youth and their adult caregivers per academic semester for a total of 90 youth over the three-year period. Science-based intervention strategies include a skill-building curriculum, leadership activities, and case management. The number of participants in the project will be used to measure progress. The project will also measure substance use rates for program participants. NCA/NCF
