Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2005, $223,957)

The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi will provide afterschool and summer prevention services to 40 youth (ages 12'17) on the Pine Creek Reservation in Fulton, Michigan. The program's goal is to prevent juvenile delinquency by targeting risk factors that impact delinquency. The program's strategy includes offering afterschool and summer activities to at-risk youth from the Huron Potawatomi Tribe. Youth will participate in a Leadership Program designed around the 40 Developmental Assets and the Seven Grandfather Teachings. Once risk factors are identified among the youth, the program will target those risk factors and prevent them through this specially designed curriculum. Performance measures will include those set forth in OJJDP's FY05 TYP solicitation. CA/NCF
