Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2005, $780,561)

The Juvenile Justice Research Center (JJRC) will assist the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) for the federal Coordinating Council on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention with the conference being held in conjunction with OJJDP, 'Building on Success: Providing Today's Youth With Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow,' January 9-13, 2006. The conference will be held at the Hilton Washington. It is anticipated that 2,500 individuals will attend the event.
The conference agenda will offer the following:
Pre-conference trainings;
3 ½ days of conference and plenary sessions;
Approximately 70 workshops;
Daily continental breakfast and am/pm beverage breaks;
2 working luncheons;
An evening Town Hall/Parenting meeting;
Exhibit hall (open throughout the conference).

JJRC will manage and coordinate the following conference activities:
Pre-conference, onsite, and post conference support;Conference Web site; Conference promotions; Registration process (i.e., collecting, processing, and tracking exhibitors' andregistrants' fees);
Speaker logistics (i.e., travel arrangements, audiovisual, and reimbursement); Developing conference materials; Provide logistical coordination for the exhibit hall; and assist OJJDP in developing the conference agenda.

The participants' and exhibitors' registration fee will be used to offset expenses for meals (three continental breakfasts, two luncheons, and morning/afternoon beverage breaks)
and other conference expenses.
