Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2005, $743,322)
The Paul & Lisa Program, Inc., has been an active leader in program and policy development regarding sexual exploitation of youth and women for nearly 25 years. This award will allow the organization and staff to continue their work to rescue and support victims of commercial sexual exploitation. The recipient proposes to conduct Project CASE: Campaign Against Sexual Exploitation, a one-year initiative designed to decrease the incidence of youth coerced or lured into child sexual exploitation and to provide comprehensive services leading to rehabilitation to assist women and girls who have already been victimized. Grantee staff will focus their scope of work within Connecticut and New York but will act nationally, as needed. Project CASE's three-fold approach to education and outreach is designed to: 1) significantly enhance the quality, depth, coordination, range and impact of outreach and case management services to the target outreach population of sexually victimized women and girls; (2) strengthen training for professionals who work first-hand with this target population; and (3) provide age-appropriate prevention education and community awareness programs for children, teachers, and community leaders in both states. The agency's best practices for prevention education, outreach and professional training will be nationally replicable. ca/ncf
