The 'I Have a Dream'® Foundation leads a national network of 70 'I Have a Dream'®(IHAD) Projects in 17 states, helping students in low-income communities overcome the statistical odds against their earning a high school diploma and going to college. Each IHAD Project provides 'Dreamers' (Program participants) with a comprehensive, long-term program of mentoring, tutoring, counseling, and enrichment that encourages each child to stay in school, aspire to higher education, and avoid destructive behaviors. The Foundation's national headquarters provides technical assistance, conferences, resources and support to local IHAD staff and Sponsors, and plays a key role in opening new IHAD Projects in communities across the country. The national office will focus on: project expansions, technical assistance, evaluation and communications. IHAD will also explore the feasibility of opening sites in OJJDP's Gang Prevention program in Los Angeles, Richmond, Milwaukee, North Miami Beach, and Honolulu. IHAD will conduct yearly outcome and project information surveys and collect, analyze, and summarize data from at least 75% of project sites. NCA/NCF
