The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, MN, Band Assembly legislative branch of the federally-recognized Mille Lacs Band of the Minnesota Chippewa Tribe will implement Tribal JADG Program Purpose Area #3 to hire a special Juvenile Justice Advocate. The Juvenile Justice Advocate will be responsible for implementing research and planning of areas that need improvement and will work together with the tribal advisory board to prepare feasibility studies and research best practices for system-wide transformation. The Mille Lacs Ojibwe Reservation consists of three main districts scattered across Mille Lacs: Pine, Aitkin, and Crow Wing counties in east central Minnesota. The new advocate will work out of the courts in the main government center in District I to improve juvenile court services for 1,129 juveniles ages 17 and younger. CA/NCF
