The Daytop Project will provide drug counseling services for 200 youths referred by juvenile justice and school agencies in Morris and Hunterdon Counties, service 200 middle and high school students with its 'Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral and Treatment (SBIRT)' program, and establish two youth and family centers, one each in Morris and Hunterdon Counties, serving over 200 families. The goal of the counseling program is to provide treatment in an area where it is not readily available. The goal of SBIRT is to prevent youth from using drugs in the first place, and the goal of the family centers is to involve the family unit in the treatment of juvenile drug problems. Daytop will report performance measures including declining rates of substance abuse, reduced family turmoil, improved school performance, and participant satisfaction as evidenced by pre and post surveys.NCA/NCF
