Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2005, $986,643)

The City of Toledo's Police Athletic League/Youth Commission (PAL/YC) will operate an after school program offering recreational activities for Toledo's youth Monday through Saturday year round. This project will address the primary problem of lack of constructive use of after school and weekend time by central city teens and will therefore target these teens in the 8-12th grades. The project plans to serve 300 unduplicated youth over a 3-year period. Outcomes will be measured by participation, satisfaction surveys, and self-reported behavioral change surveys. The project will also track the juvenile offense rates for the central city area during this period.NCA/NCF
