Soundview Community In Action (SCA), a not for profit organization, was incorporated in 1997 to serve the business and civic communities of the South East Bronx. SCA will provide outreach programs for at risk youth in collaboration with existing community and adult programs. SCA's Technology Access and Community Development Programs are designed to provide computer and internet access to residents living in the low income and drug infested neighborhoods located in South East Bronx. The goals of SCA are to provide a safe haven and coordinate activities that help target youth at risk of alcohol and substance abuse and experimentation and criminal activity; to reduce pregnancies through education and counseling; and to provide assistance to parents and adults by advocating for services, providing case assistance and training programs. SCA will report on the following performance measures: the number of participants attending the Internet Access Center and the number of adults attending, completing and passing the computer training classes.
