Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2005, $197,329)
The City of Colton's Police Activities League (PAL) will operate a youth center focusing on recreational and educational programming, such as sports and academic tutoring. The youth center will be open free of charge to the youth of Colton. Goals of the center include reducing juvenile crime rates and gang participation, and improving academic achievement. PAL will report on performance measures including program participation rates, improved school attendance and academic performance by participants, reduced juvenile crime rate and a reduced rate of juveniles participating in gangs.NCA/NCF
