The Co-Occurring Program Experience (COPE) provides integrated treatment to youth with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders who have been adjudicated delinquent in Marion County, Oregon. Program services are initially provided while youth are in a residential setting, and continue once youth return to their families and communities. All youth and families will participate in family counseling, individual counseling, parent training/support, drug/alcohol relapse prevention planning, and skills training based on the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) model. In addition, tutoring and case management are available to those youth and families in need of these services.

The applicant will report on such relevant performance measures as: the percentage of youth successfully demonstrating mastery of DBT skills by the end of treatment; the percentage of youth with clean urine screens within 3 months of program enrollment; and the percentage of youth with improved school attendance and academic achievement within 3 months of program enrollment.NCA/NCF
