The Gateway After-school Program will provide after-school educational enrichment, arts and recreation activities and social skills training to low-income, diverse students in Pawtucket, RI. The Gateway Program will engage these youth in project-based after school programming, improve their attendance and grades, improve their social skills, and encourage familial support and the development of appropriate emotional attitudes. These goals will be measured through pre and post-testing, accurate tracking of participant's grades and attendance, and a program-specific questionnaire addressing youth's attitudes, systems of support and general level of functioning.
