The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (SC DJJ) will update and improve its computer network infrastructure. The improvements will allow it to establish a wide-area network (WAN) connecting all of its agencies throughout South Carolina. The goal is that with the updates, the SC DJJ will become more efficient in handling the youth that are in its system. The new system also will allow it to better monitor its juvenile justice system and make additional improvements in needed areas. The SC DJJ will report on performance measures including the successful connection of all state-wide offices and agencies to the new WAN, and the successful functioning of the new system.
