Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2005, $2,959,930)
George Washington University, in collaboration with research partners (subcontractors) located at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), Morehouse School of Medicine, University of Oregon, Shenandoah University, and the Trauma Center at JRI, will develop interventions for middle and high school youth that will be tested in rural and urban schools. The program goals will advance the use of evidence-based practices by conducting research and evaluation, and providing dissemination and technical assistance services for middle and high school youth in rural and urban schools. The program's strategy is to increase the capacity of administrators, teachers, and other practitioners to make use of violence prevention evidence-based practices. Hamilton Fish Institute (HFI) will report on performance outputs such as total service hours, types of agencies requesting assistance, participation rates, primers, and new best practices. HFI will collect and report performance measure data such as number of visitor sessions on the web site, documented change in student behavior/school performance, customer satisfaction and identified strategies by TA recipients.
