No Workshops...No Jumpshots

Edgewater Systems for Balanced Living will implement the No Workshops'No Jumpshots prevention and intervention program targeting at-risk youth age 13-18 in Gary, Indiana. The primary goals are to 1) increase academic achievement and attainment; and 2) decrease school suspensions and dropout rates of participating youth. The primary activities will be 1) workshops (life skills, tutoring, teamwork exercises, individual and group counseling, violence prevention, conflict resolution, and stress management); 2) presentations from local college and professional athletes; and 3) internships.
The program seeks to increase the capacity of 50 potentially problem youth between 13 and 18 years of age to develop acceptable behaviors in the individual, family, school, and community life domains.NCA/NCF
