The Vermont Coalition of Teen Centers (VCTC) will continue its efforts to develop the capacity of teen centers throughout Vermont. VCTC will develop the capacity of teen centers in Vermont by awarding sub-grants to teen centers throughout the state and by providing all sub-grantees with training and technical assistance. The goals of the program are to: increase the capacity of 35 teen centers as effective juvenile delinquency and substance abuse prevention resources; increase the quality and sustainability of teen center programming for youths in 175 communities in Vermont; and increase state-wide coordination of community based prevention approaches for youths. VCTC will accomplish these goals by: (1) increasing the effectiveness of the prevention programming teen centers offer, (2) endorsing and promoting program operation standards that ensure high-quality programming for teens, (3) increasing teen centers' administrative and service delivery capacity, and (4) refining a uniform data gathering system at participating centers to further facilitate the evaluation of programming. VCTC submit categorical progress reports in GMS that will report on seven (7) performance measures including: increased number of programs offered to teens, teen centers reporting an increased number of kids served by their programs, teen centers reporting an improvement in operations and, teen centers reporting an increase in the number of funding streams separate from VCTC.
