Summer Stars Teen Program

The primary purpose of the Milwaukee Public Schools - Recreation Division (MPS-Rec) 2007 Summer Star Teen Program is to provide safe, adult-supervised, recreational and enrichment activities to 2,500 teenage youth who reside in two Milwaukee's most demanding neighborhoods. The MPS-Recreation will implement the following program goals: Provide recreational/enrichment programming for 2500 teenage youth; collaborate with 15 non-profit community-based youth service agencies to serve as Summar Stars support sites; co-sponsor Summer Stars teen events/activities at program support sites; engage youth in a leadership development structure; and reduce regional area juvenile criminal activity by 2%.
