DEVELOPING NEW KNOWLEDGE FOR EFFECTIVE
CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTERS:
EMPLOYING THE NCATRAK DATA SYSTEM FOR CAC RESEARCH
Project Abstract
The proposed research represents an innovative effort to link research with large-scale,
standardized case data collection by the National Children's Alliance, the membership
organization of Children's Advocacy Centers. By engaging many CACs through their normal client data collection process, this study would provide the most representative knowledge about what CACs do, how their programs vary, and what outcomes they lead to. It would also provide the largest data set on multidisciplinary response in the history of child maltreatment research on multidisciplinary response to child abuse, providing a rich source for numerous useful studies. Finally, it would develop effective methods to promote CAC research and program evaluation for many years to come.
