The Eau Claire County Restorative Justice Program provides intervention for juvenile offenders using a restorative justice model. The program will also provide restorative opportunities for victims of crime. The goals of the program are: (1) foster the restorative capacity and competencies of offenders as early as possible; (2) provide restorative opportunities for the victims of crime; (3) create meaningful opportunities for community members to become involved in justice. The restorative justice model used by the Eau Claire County Restorative Justice Program will include victim-offender conferencing, accountability mentoring and accountability workshops. The program will serve juveniles referred by the Juvenile Court Intake (JCI), the juvenile's parents, by social workers, or by the juvenile court. The program will submit categorical progress reports in GMS which will report on nine (9) performance measures that include measuring the offenders' retention of curriculum information using pre and post-tests, the re-offense rate for those that complete the program compared to those that do not, and the amount of restitution collect by the program that would have otherwise not been collected.
